Internal Family Systems with Dr. Val Camarano

My first official interview and an exclusive inside look at IFS and how it works!

I was first introduced to IFS (Internal family systems) a few years ago but with the exception of self-healing, I have not had a true IFS session …until now. In this video, my friend Val and I show you how IFS works while digging into my personal family systems. This tool is such an amazing resource for anyone who is on their own healing journey whether it be physical or emotional.

ALSO! If you are a New York Resident, Dr. Camarano is offering a FREE trial session for the first 5 people to reach out to her!

Dr. Valerie Camarano is a clinical psychologist and leader in public service based in New York City. With over a decade of experience, she is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals and families through evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment. In her private practice, Dr. Camarano works with individuals and families, offering specialized clinical services to support those experiencing the effects of trauma, neurodivergence, and chronic overwhelm.

Grounded in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, her approach provides a gentle and compassionate pathway to clarity, healing, and inner peace. Dr. Camarano’s commitment to developing effective strategies empowers her clients to find fulfillment and meaning in their lives.

After earning her Psy.D. from St. John’s University, Dr. Camarano began her career providing clinical services to people in need. Her leadership in developing mental health and quality assurance programs within juvenile justice, including roles on Rikers Island and overseeing services for adjudicated youth, deepened her commitment to reform. As Assistant Commissioner for Juvenile Justice Behavioral Health Services for the City of New York, she played a key role in initiatives like “Close to Home,” which focused on improving mental health outcomes and maintaining connections between young people and their families and communities. She also served as voluntary faculty at NYU Langone’s Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where she promoted trauma-informed care in detention settings.

Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Camarano enjoys exploring New York City with her husband and children. She believes that the journey of self-discovery can transform how we work, love, and lead, and she is passionate about empowering others in their healing journeys.
